Patrick Mitchell

Background

Patrick ‘Fryday’ Mitchell was one of the first volunteers at RADIOLEX and is the host of ‘Kiss of Lyfe’ a feel-good show featuring two hours of old-school soul, R&B, and Motown.

Patrick has joined the staff of RADIOLEX to help out production and community outreach.

Patrick got his start in radio at WTLA-FM, a local station operated by the Urban League in association with cable access. He also hosted the morning drive at power U102.5.FM.

In addition to radio, Patrick has been performing on and off stage for 40 years. He is a co-founder of Message Theater, one of Lexington’s African American Theater companies. He has also been seen locally and most recently in AthensWest production of “Fences”.

As an actor, Patrick has performed on and off-Broadway. He has taken many lead roles in his career including Othello and Malcolm X in “The Meeting”. As a stand-up comedian, Patrick toured the midwest, and he has worked with Jamie Foxx, Sinbad, and Mark Curry. Patrick is also an award-winning, published photographer trained at Kentucky State University and The Photography Institute.
