Our community has been hit hard by gun violence. Our friends and neighbors are coping with the repeated grief of losing friends and family. We are experiencing the trauma of living on streets where witnessing gun violence has sadly become routine.
UnityFest is an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses in our community to come together and stand in solidarity against gun violence.
RADIOLEX and The Voyage Movement/H.E.A.R.T.S. hope to empower ordinary residents to become advocates for those at the highest risk of being victims and/or perpetrators of violence. We want to actively invest in reducing interpersonal gun violence by creating a shared moment of unity and celebration of the best our community has to offer.
Local recording artist Ka$h Lovee is the heart and mind behind UnityFest.
On July 9, 2022, the community is invited to the Greyline Station & Market for a day of performances showcasing local performers of all ages. The festival runs from 5pm-10pm in the north lot of the Greyline off Limestone. Featuring special vendors, food trucks, and family activities plus all the shops and stalls of the Greyline and Julietta Market.
Proceeds will benefit gun violence advocacy organizations Project Body Bag, Stop the Bleed, and E1st Sean Howard Foundation (in honor of Anita Rowe Franklin) as well as The Voyage Movement/H.E.A.R.T.S. and Lexington’s community radio station, RADIOLEX.
We hope you will join us as we stand together to interrupt interpersonal gun violence in our community.
